I have seen how devastated people can feel when they finally get their results , i am going to tell you an anecdote that now makes me laugh , i remember a few years ago i got home and then i visited my grandmother and when i arrived to her house she e?was crying and shaking with a paper in her hands i asked her: «what happened?» and she gave me the paper , were her results of her Genetic testing , they said that she had an 89% chance of developing Thyroid Cancer and she was really frightened because she suffers hyperthyroidism , she was saying:»I am gonna Kamloops free hookup apps die» i tried to calm her and we went to a doctor , he did a quick review and the doctor told her that the levels of probabilities of developing thyroid cancer were not as exhorbitant as the test said .
Nowadays people rely on these genetic tets wich is incorrect because people give them too much power and then when they see their reults , they feel concerned . I think that taking these kind of tests at home it is completely crazy and «Home Genetic Testing» should be prohibited because they don’t have an inkling of how much concern can bring and they are not reliable either , very few diseases can be indicated by a single gene , what about Skin cancer or Leukemia taht is not in our genes , on the contrary they are consciously and sometimes unconsciously provoke on the one hand the sun exposure and on the other side taking about Leukimia is due to bad nutrition wich produces low defenses or a weakened inmune system , the have nothing to do with genetics.
Let’s show how intelligent and responsible we are , if we stop taking these kind of tests so lightly , we are going to contribute to stop using them without an appropiate and effective interpretation by a doctor.
Everything you said was right. We shouldn’t give so much power to a paper. We should just be aware of our lifestyle 🙂
hello everubody, this is my second writing, is a great storymy friend from my school has faced obstacles, but he has struggled to overcame these. For example, his father abandoned him when he was a baby so his mom had to work and his aunt took care of him. In addition, his family was poor. Living in poverty was difficult for him because he didn’t have enough resources and he couldn’t go to a great school. After that, he had to leave his downtown home to study in Lima. Now he is studying at UNI and he wants to get his mom out of poverty. To conclude it, seeing what he did, it inspired me and other friends to never give up even if you are in the worst situations, you can defeat all your obstacles
Ohh.. That was so sweet! It’s still surprising how many kids are abandoned and still manage to survive and move on. Your friend is really strong and brave 🙂
Hi! This is my opinion about «Home Genetic Testing».We can decide to live or die for ourselves. If our 99.9% of the DNA of each one has general characteristics like human being but 0.1% that makes us different. This 0.1% can help us solve inherited problems or diseases. In recent years medicine has been developed by technology, there are different ways to prevent, treat and solve some diseases connected with DNA. For example home genetic testing, which has made life easier for some people; on the other hand there are people who have had problems with this. The anxiety to interpret the results is a negative effect, changes the emotional state and mental balance.Home genetic testing can only identify 4 types of hereditary diseases, for example Parkinson; the current test does not have the capability to diagnose you with certain diseases. It can only inform you of your genetic risk. We can give assumptions or interpret tests so we need help from specialists.Seeing that our knowledge about the function and composition of DNA is very poor we should not interpret or assimilate ideas as to suffer a genetic disease. Only experts as a genetic counselor can help us to follow a correct process. Despite the rapidity of these results we must not forget the consequences that can give us in the future.
